Manchester United are rumoured to be lining up bids for two of the games most highly-rated forwards as Jose Mourinho looks to reshape his side.
The Manchester Evening News has reported that Mourinho is keen on signing Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. Welsh star Bale, who won a second successive Champions League medal at the weekend, signed a new 6-year deal with Los Blancos earlier in the year, but there is some doubt about his future.
Mourinho is known to be on the lookout for a winger who can score goals and Bale would fit that bill, although Madrid would be looking for a world record fee to sell up, with £100 million mentioned.
With United’s interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann apparently all but over, Mourinho is also turning his sights to Moncao starlet Kylian Mbappe, according to The Sun.
Mbappe, 18, was the breakout star in the Monaco side which won Ligue Un and made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League, scoring 26 goals in all competitions.
Again, £100 million has been stated as a figure that would secure Mbappe’s signature. But United will face stiff competition to sign him: Arsenal have already had a bid of £87 million turned down and a host of other clubs, including Real Madrid are also interested in the player.
