When Armstrong Bell were awarded a number of contracts to supply telecoms systems to schools in the Midlands, the company was careful to ensure they were supplying the right product for the needs of the customer.
The schools included Severndale Academy and Wilfred Owen School in Shrewsbury, The Blue Coat School in Edgbaston and South Bromsgrove High School.
Different types of telecom solutions
As with many of the Midlands-based company’s business customers, the schools were given a mix of services depending on their particular requirements. Unlike some competitors, Armstrong Bell is capable of offering different types of telecoms solutions to its customers.
“I’m really happy with the work we’re doing with these schools,” according to Will Copley, CEO of Armstrong Bell. “It’s very different from working with businesses, but as with all our customers, they want the right solution to suit their needs and budgets.”
Private branch exchange or a hosted voice service..
The schools will receive a mix of either a private branch exchange (PBX) or a hosted voice service, which allows schools the use telephony systems without have to pay for telecoms equipment. The call platform is hosted and the customers connect via IP to the service provider for their voice service.
“Most private sector companies are starting to use our hosted voice supplier system for easier support,” Will added. “This is generally cheaper over long term and when we meet our customers we demonstrate how cost effective this is. Once they’ve seen the cost benefits of hosted, they never look back. Hosted voice never goes out of date.”
Simplifying the telecoms processes
The extensions in the hosted voice system connect directly into the internet and do not need any extra equipment. Moreover, the outgoing and inbound phone calls connect via a virtual system that simplifies the telecoms processes.
“We do, however, have an expertise in PBX. We have many customers who still use that systems and for schools it may be a better solution to have PBX. One school wanted less cover over a seven year period, for example. So PBX is ideal and cheaper.
“You often find that what is good for our school customers doesn’t fit with private sector customers and vice versa. Some schools are simply not suited for hosted voice.”
Leading Midlands suppliers
Elsewhere, for businesses, Armstrong Bell is now considered to be one of the leading Midlands suppliers of hosted voice phone system suppliers.
“Armstrong Bell have been at the cutting edge of digital telecoms solution since 2001,” Will said. “We have a great team who are expanding our customer base all the time; supplying our growing list of customers with the best telephony and broadband packages.”
Helping customers to tailor services
Armstrong Bell are now offering business mobile packages that can be used by several carriers, helping customers to tailor services for their requirements.
