Hard Anodising Surface Treatments Ltd is proud to announce its continued support for Formula Student teams by providing free hard and soft anodising services.

The company has been offering this support to these teams for many years, and it has helped them to achieve outstanding results in their competitions.

This year, Cardiff achieved a 5th place from 54 teams entered, and the team is consistently in the top 10. Hard Anodising Surface Treatments Ltd is proud to have played a small part in their success by providing anodised components that are critical to their performance.

“From us we would like to thank you for your support. As the graduates leave and move on to future jobs, they have a list of companies they have been working with over the years, one of them yours.”

Lee Treherne, Automotive Technician, Cardiff Racing

The parts that Hard Anodising Surface Treatments Ltd anodised are hard to see as they are holding the wheels on the car. The anodic films tend to be hard optimised for mechanical wear and while also retaining fatigue strength. The aluminium components are less than half a kilo, and they are the type that can be held in one hand. As you can see in the images below, the parts in the photo in red make up the axle. Cardiff Racing requested them colour coded; therefore, the left side was dyed green.

Recently, Hard Anodising Surface Treatments Ltd received another enquiry from UCL competing in the same competition. The company is eager to help more teams like Cardiff and UCL and is hoping to receive more requests from Formula Student teams. This is a great way to advertise to future engineers and showcase the company’s capabilities.

In conclusion, Hard Anodising Surface Treatments Ltd is committed to supporting the next generation of engineers by providing free anodising services to Formula Student teams. The company is proud of its contributions and looks forward to helping more teams in the future.
