Monaco star Kylian Mbappe may be admired by the managers of many clubs around Europe, but only 4 can afford to buy him – Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, and both Manchester clubs, according to a top agent.
Agent Pascal Boisseau said to French newspaper l’Equipe that the performances of Mbappe this season have inflated his value so much that now only those 4 clubs could afford him.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted this could be the case. He is an admirer of Mbappe, but admitted that the euro100 million pricetag would make a deal difficult to do.
Mbappe has had a stellar season for Monaco, and he has helped the club to the semi-finals of the Champions League and to top spot in Ligue Un.
Yahoo Sport claimed earlier this month that Monaco have already turned down a bid of £110 million for their star – £21 million more than the current world transfer record, which is held by Manchester United, who paid £89 million for Paul Pogba last year.
Boisseau reckons that Mbappe should stay with Monaco for the time being. “Leaving this summer would be the worst thing that could happen to him. It’s not a good year,” he said.
“Today he is flying, there is not a young man of his level. But, even if he is less good next season, Monaco will have offers at euro100 million also.”
