Premier League champions Chelsea are set for a major strengthening of their squad this summer, with 4 players earmarked to come.

It is hoped that this move will help to keep manager Antonio Conte, after it has emerged that he has clashed with Roman Abramovich’s chief negotiator Marina Granovskaia as he seeks more power over the footballing side of the club.

Among the players that have been targeted are Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus and are apparently prepared to pay £50 million for his services, despite the player turning 30 earlier in the year.

Another Juve player, left-back Alex Sandro, is also on Conte’s shopping list.

The Blues are also said to be in advanced negotiations to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko for £40 million.

Chelsea’s long-time pursuit of their ex-player Romelu Lukaku is also expected to end in a success with a £75 million deal.

Chelsea’s top brass have also not ruled out signing more players on top of this.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed until the ink is dry on the contract, but this does send out a statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League that Chelsea will in no way be resting on their laurels this summer and will come back even stronger next season. Which is worrying for all 19 clubs.
